Art: Elementary Sketches

Sketches from my early attempts at drawing.
February 7, 2010

This series of sketches was part of a school project from 1997 (I believe… possibly earlier). Going home for the summer in April of 2009, I found them in a cardboard box while sorting through a bunch of my things and thought to myself, “heck!!! I’ll throw em’ up online.”

I like to think they illustrate how a rushing child evolved in a slightly less rushing sketch artist from stage 1 to stage 7.

As evident from this series of pencil drawings, the purpose of the school exercise was to teach us lowly untalented children about shadows and perspective.

I actually like to think of the train and the great dane (stages 6 & 7 respectively) as examples of some of my better work to date…..
…kinda scary when I realize that I was probably about 10 or 11 when I drew these.
