So I’m sitting in my friend Dave’s basement right now….
Last night we caught an acoustic show by a Toronto band called On A Rope Enterprises. They’re a great couple of guys who I talked with at the show about setting up some gigs, so Tridia may be making its Toronto debut sometime soon…..with just me playing everything acoustically…..we’ll see how that pans out.
Anyways, the title of this post refers to the Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode of the same name which was filmed as a musical (side note: the episode was about a demon that forced people to break into spontaneous song and dance). Well, tonight I caught a shadow-cast version of the musical that was being put on by the Bloor Theatre and Fringe Toronto.
They’re running the show twice more, along with shadow-cast versions of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet, Jurassic Park, Repo! The Genetic Opera, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, so if you’re in Toronto between now and the 12th of July, and you find yourself close to Bloor/Bathurst, definitely drop by and check it out…..overall it was a fun show – more fun if you’re already really familiar with the source material…… :D
On the work side of things, I just heard back from the University of Toronto by email, letting me know that I’ve been accepted to residence for the summer, so I finally have a place to live – I just can’t physically live there until the 7th – so I’m stuck in limbo until then.
Other than that…I start at Exclaim! in exactly 11 hours, so I should probably get some sleep….
